“The Telegraph Station Open Day and Markets is a wonderful day to get together with friends and family,” said Ms Butler.

Guests can enjoy a walk among the heritage listed buildings while enjoying music from the Alice Springs Town Band and Sing Australia, browse the fabulous collection of Alice Springs made crafts and homewares while enjoying great food from various cuisines and cultures.”

Visitors can send telegrams by Morse code to family and friends with the Morsecodian Fraternity members on site at the old Post Office – all for a gold coin donation.

For the families and younger ones join Parks and Wildlife Community Engagement Ranger Jennifer in old fashioned children’s games with family friendly games on offer.
