Thirty one tourism businesses from across the Territory, plus National tourism operators will be represented at the 2018 Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), taking place in Adelaide from 16 – 19 April 2018.
Organised by Tourism Australia, partnership with the South Australian Tourism Commission, the 2018 ATE is the largest annual travel and tourism business to business event bringing together Australian tourism businesses, wholesalers and retailers from around the world.
A strong NT delegation
is crucial to growing tourism in the Territory, with four new NT businesses attending
this year’s exchange including Halikos Hospitality, Sacred Earth Safaris, Uluru
& Kakadu National Parks & Uluru Segway Tours.
The NT exhibitors
represent all regions from Darwin to Katherine, Kakadu, Arnhem Land, Alice
Springs and Uluru.
Department of Tourism and Culture, Deputy CEO Andrew Hopper said the event gave our local operators the opportunity to sell their products to an international audience.
“ATE is key in gathering
market insights to develop new and improved experiences, meet with international
buyers and negotiate new contracts,” Mr Hopper said.
“It will raise the
profile of our Northern Territory operators globally and ensure our operators
remain competitive and continue to strive for excellence and innovation.
“Highlights include the
NT Alley which will showcase the NT Waterhole display featuring the colourful,
tropical vibe of the Top End and the rustic beauty of the Red Centre.”
Around 1500 Australian
seller delegates will attend ATE 2018 from approximately 550 companies, 700 key
buyer delegates from over 30 countries and more than 80 international and
Australian media delegates, helping to promote the Territory as a travel
destination to millions of people around the world.
The NT Government’s record $103 million Turbocharging Tourism stimulus package includes $26.57 million for targeted tourism marketing.
