The Northern Territory Government is offering four Arts Fellowships to established NT artists and arts workers to support a program of significant professional development that strengthens and recognises outstanding achievement in the arts.
The Arts Fellowship Program offers a total of $200 000 towards four fellowships of $50 000 each to access career development opportunities.
Department of Tourism and Culture, Director of Arts NT, Angela Hill said the funding provides support for outstanding artists and arts workers’ to further their career, artistic practice and profile within the Northern Territory and nationally.
“Initiatives may include mentorships or internships with recognised practitioners and organisations, residencies or research to develop skills and create new works,” Ms Hill said.
“The program offers established artists and arts workers recognition, and an important source of income to enable arts professionals to focus on their artistic practice and careers within the Northern Territory and nationally.
“Territory artists and arts workers with a minimum of six years professional arts practice and demonstrated achievements in the NT across art forms, including dance, literature, music, theatre, visual arts and community arts who are seeking the next step towards advancing their career are invited to apply.
“The Arts Fellowships are valued at $50,000 each and are intended to assist leading artists and arts workers to acquire new skills, knowledge and networks to support future employment opportunities.
Three Arts Fellowships will be awarded to artists including one Top End, one Central Australian and at least one dedicated to an Aboriginal artist. One Fellowship will be awarded to a professional arts worker.
Territory artists and arts workers are invited to attend the information session taking place on Wednesday, 18 April 2018, 5.30pm at Arts NT, Level 1, 9-11 Cavenagh Street in Darwin, or to dial in from videoconferencing facilities as advertised from Alice Springs.
Anyone interested in Katherine or Tennant Creek is invited to attend a session on Thursday, 19 April 2018, 4pm at 19 Second St, Katherine or 65 Staunton Street, Tennant Creek.
