One of Darwin’s most picturesque locations has scooped up a common doggy dilemma by providing free biodegradable bags for owners to clean-up after their pooches.
Department of Tourism and Culture, Director of George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens, Bryan Harty, said the bags are conveniently located at both the top and bottom areas of the Gardens.
“A stunning location with shady paths, lush lawns and a fantastic dog-friendly café make the Gardens a popular spot for dog-walking, and by providing free environmentally friendly bags we hope the grounds will stay clean for everyone to enjoy,” Mr Harty said.
“The convenient placement of the bags at the two main entrances make it easy for everyone to do the right thing.
“We have also installed new signage reminding people to keep their dogs within eyesight and under control to ensure everyone has a relaxing visit to the Gardens.
“Dogs are an important part of many Territory families, and we are proud to provide a dog-friendly space for Territorians to enjoy.”
