The Department of Tourism and Culture’s Araluen Arts Centre is pleased to announce the return of its Art House Cinema program for 2018.
“We are excited to have the Art House Cinema program resume with a program of national and international art house films,” Department of Tourism and Culture, Director of the Araluen Cultural Precinct, Dr. Mark Crees said.
“The Art House Cinema program will open with the Brazilian documentary The Space in Between – Marina Abramovic in Brazil on Monday 5 March.
“The documentary follows Serbian performance artist Marina Abramovic travelling through Brazil in search of healing and inspiration whilst revealing her creative process for the first time.
“We are pleased that our upcoming program includes the Golden Globe and Cannes Film Festival award winning thriller In The Fade, starring Dianne Kruger.
“In April we will be screening Human Flow, a documentary by acclaimed Chinese contemporary artist Ai Weiwei on the international migration crisis. The film is being screened as part of the Biennale of Sydney alongside a keynote discussion presented by Weiwei himself.”
With the commencement of the Araluen Art House Cinema program on 5 March, 2018 at 7.00pm, Yaye’s Café is pleased to offer Araluen cinema goers a special ‘Coffee & Cake Deal’ at just $5.
Why not drop into Yaye’s prior to the film for a quick bite ahead of a great arthouse movie experience. The Araluen Arts Centre Bar will remain open for drinks as usual and the addition of Yaye’s provides for even more choice with exceptional coffee and a very special coffee and cake deal.
The Araluen Art House Cinema occurs most Monday nights from March through to November and a current program can be found online at www.araluenartscentre.nt.gov.au.
Tickets to single screenings are adults $17.00 and concession $14.00.
