Vietnam and Indonesia visit promotes trade and investment opportunities

Three Northern Territory Government representatives will travel to Vietnam and Indonesia next week with Primary Industry and Resources and Arafura Games Minister Ken Vowles.

While in Vietnam and Indonesia the Minister will meet with government officials, and trade and investment partners to:

  • strengthen existing relationships between the Northern Territory Government and government counterparts and industry in Vietnam and Indonesia

  • build relationships that promote northern Australia as a supplier of choice for live cattle and buffalo exports

  • officially invite the two countries to participate in the Arafura Games.

The delegation will leave Darwin on Sunday 10 December and return on Sunday 17 December.

The public servants travelling with the Minister are:

  • Chief Executive, Department of Primary Industry and Resources

  • Director Livestock Industry Development, Department of Primary Industry and Resources

  • Department of Trade, Business and Innovation’s representative to Singapore.

 Travel costs for the three public servants travelling to Vietnam and Indonesia:

  • Total for flights – $6,406

  • Total for accommodation – $3,839

Travel costs are based on the official itineraries received from the travel provider prior to departure and the known exchange rate at the time.
