Support DonateLife NT this weekend in Alice Springs

Department of Health

Join the Alice Springs Running and Walking Club for a river run/walk along the banks of the Todd River and support DonateLife NT on Saturday 2 December 2017.

Participants are encouraged to wear pink to show support of Organ and Tissue Donation.

DonateLife NT is partnering with Alice Springs Running and Walking Club to encourage the community to register their organ donation decision and discuss it with family and friends.

The river run event is a 2.3 kilometre circuit around the Todd River and participants can choose to run one or two laps.

Each year thousands of Australian lives are saved and transformed thanks to the generosity of living and deceased organ and tissue donors and their families.

You can show your support by joining the Australian Organ Donor Register to one day save lives at donatelife.gov.au and talking to your loved ones.

With around 1,300 Australians currently on transplant waiting lists, and a further 12,000 people on dialysis, many of whom would benefit from a transplant, we need to optimise every donation opportunity.

DonateLife NT (within the NT Department of Health) is the Northern Territory’s organ and tissue donation agency. It is part of a network of DonateLife agencies throughout Australia that coordinate organ and tissue donation, support donor families and raise awareness about donation in the community.

The river run starts at 6:30am sharp from the grassed meeting point opposite the Todd Tavern on Leichardt Terrace. The free event is self-timed and non-competitive.
