Northern Territory Government

Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade See the Rabotruck at the Show

29 June 2022

With the Territory Show season fast approaching, the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade is calling for all ‘showgoers’ to stop by and say hi to the team at this year’s show.

The Territory Shows are a highlight on the calendar for many Territorians and are a fantastic opportunity to meet with the departments’ local representatives to chat.

In partnership with local industry groups, representatives from the department’s business, agriculture and biosecurity teams will be available in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine and Darwin.

Department staff can answer questions on a range of agriculture, biosecurity and livestock enquiries. Or you can also chat to a Small Business Champion about what grants and support is currently available to grow your business.

Plus there’s plenty for the kids including virtual reality activities showing cattle mustering by helicopters and other hands-on events, such as soil testing and activity books.

This year the department will be partnering with the NT Cattlemen’s Association and Rabobank to bring a range of speakers and engaging content to the RaboTruck stage.

The department will be participating in Alice Springs on 1-2 July, Tennant Creek on 8 July, Katherine on 15-16 July and Darwin on 21-23 July.

Quote from Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade’s Deputy CEO, Agriculture, Fisheries and Biosecurity, Luke Bowen:

“Everybody loves the Show and what better way to chat to department staff then at one of the four shows across the Territory.

“Whether your interest is in agriculture, business or biosecurity, come and talk to the team at your local show.

“Through events like this, our team are working with industry to foster the capability and capacity of Territory business to be profitable, resilient and sustainable.

“We are committed to assisting the industry by providing knowledge, supporting the sector and brokering solutions for businesses across the Territory.

“If you’re at the show, please stop by and say g’day to our team.”

Quote from Rabobank Senior Rural Manager for the NT, Barry Gerschwitz

“We want to share knowledge about the agriculture industry.

“A lot of townspeople go to the shows, and we want to help them learn where and how their food is produced.

“We want to bridge the urban-rural divide.”
