The Department of Tourism and Culture’s Territory Wildlife Park (TWP) is inviting Christmas revellers to celebrate the start of the festive season at the fifth annual Christmas Markets, being held Sunday 3 December from 9am to 1pm.

With more than 30 specialty art, craft and market stalls, live music from Ken Brodie, quality Darwin-style food stalls, and children’s entertainment including glitter tattooing, a jumping castle and waterslide, the favourite TWP’s Christmas Markets is the perfect family day out - tropical style.

Santa has confirmed he will be back for photos in collaboration with Outer Edge Photography, as well as some of the Park’s favourite animals who will be roving the markets to help celebrate.

The Department of Tourism and Culture’s TWP Director Shael Martin said the Christmas Markets are the a great day out while shopping for some exciting and unique Christmas presents.

“Our Christmas Markets are back and set to be bigger than ever with a huge array of arts and craft stores selling a number of bespoke gifts, crafts and artisanal foods,” Ms Martin said.

“Santa and our park’s famous animals will be available for photos from $10 each, making the perfect gift for family, friends and loved ones who live near and far.

“Take a stroll through the markets and enjoy the live music, as well as food stalls including Greek, La French Crepe, Ezy Freezy Sno Cone, Spiral Spuds, Top End Delights, Mamma’s Kitchen and much more, as we kick off one of the Top End’s most special seasons.”

The Christmas Markets are held in the TWP’s lush picnic area near the main entrance, and ATM facilities are available.

Entry to the markets is free. Fees apply to those who wish to explore the park afterwards, or free on presentation of a valid Territorian Pass.
