Litchfield
National Park attracts more than 360,000 visitors per year.
Department of
Tourism and Culture Executive Director for Parks and Wildlife Mark Ashley said
that investing into our Parks was an important commitment allowing families to
enjoy the many parks and reserves open for camping and adventures in and around
Darwin and to grow the tourism potential.
“The continued
upgrades in and around the Litchfield National Park are part of our plan to improve
tourism infrastructure, attract more visitors and encourage them to stay
longer,” Mr Ashley said.
While these
works are under way, access will remain open for the Florence Falls 2WD
Campground, Day-use area and the plunge pool swimming hole.
The popular
Litchfield National Park offers camping spots at Florence Falls, Wangi Falls,
Sandy Creek, Surprise Creek and Walker Creek.
