Show-goers in Alice
Springs and Tennant Creek could win a Golden Ticket to some of the hottest
events, valid until the end of the year, just by visiting the Department of
Tourism and Culture stand in the Parks and Wildlife Commission shed.
The Department of
Tourism and Culture Golden Ticket winner will also get to enjoy money-can’t-buy-experiences
unique to the Northern Territory.
They include a
Buddy Ride in the Yeperenye Shopping Centre RedCentreNATS Street Parade, an exclusive guided
tour for up to five people of Parrtjima – A Festival in Light and the chance
to be a Zookeeper for a day at the Alice Springs Desert Park.
The Red Centre Golden
Ticket also includes two VIP tickets to the RedCentreNATS Rock N Rumble concert
featuring James Reyne plays Australian Crawl tour and the Rotary Henley on Todd
Regatta. The lucky winner will also receive a Desert Mob prize pack and double
pass to the State Theatre Company South Australia’s production of The Popular Mechanicals, courtesy of the
Araluen Arts Centre and free entry to the 2018 Alice Springs Masters Games.
“The Department of
Tourism and Culture is home to the very best of the Territory’s great lifestyle
– our parks, arts and cultural festivals, unique heritage and tourism
experiences and first class sporting events,” said CEO of the Department of
Tourism and Culture, Alastair Shields.
“The prizes in the
Golden Ticket represent some of the Territory’s iconic experiences, events and
attractions as well as the variety of work the Department of Tourism and
Culture carries out in the community.
“We’ve no doubt
this is a Ticket all Territorians will want to win!”
The Department of
Tourism and Culture stand joins the family favourite Parks and Wildlife
Commission display, which this year encourages visitors to “take a closer” look
at the Territory’s tourism assets as well as the plants and animals in our
parks and reserves.
As part of the
display, the stand will include Virtual Reality headsets showcasing the NT
Government’s recent collaboration with Google, showcasing Uluru via Google Maps
Street View.
Show-goers will
also be able to dig for fossils, crawl into a bat cave, dress up like a Ranger
or local animal, get up close and personal with a python and meet a Barn Owl
between 11 and 12 each day.
Territory residents
over the age of 18, who visit the Department of Tourism and Culture stand, can
enter the Golden Ticket competition.
The Red Centre
winner will be drawn on Friday 4 August. Terms and conditions apply. Visit www.dtc.nt.gov.au for all the
details.
