A
new school holiday program in Katherine will help children discover their sense
of adventure.
Wild Time takes young explorers
on a voyage of discovery to experience and investigate some of the wildlife and
national parks in the Katherine region.
Department
of Tourism and Culture, Community Engagement Officer Parks and Wildlife
Commission, Clare Pearce said the new program was aimed at educating children
and helping connect with nature from an early age.
“A
wonderful thing about living in the Territory is the exposure to the great
outdoors, the Wild Time program is a great way for children to learn how to
enjoy our Parks safely while learning, being active and of course having fun.”
“The
session will be a wild time for the kids and they will be encouraged to play
the ultimate game of hide and seek, they will spy, spot and search the bush
while learning what the world around them is made up of.”
The
program is open to kids aged between 5-10 years old and all participants must
be accompanied by an adult 18 years or over.
