Children
in Alice Springs can discover their sense of adventure in a new school holiday
program - Wild Time.
Wild
Time takes young explorers on a voyage of discovery to investigate some of the
wonderful wildlife in the Alice region.
Department
of Tourism and Culture, Community Engagement Officer Parks and Wildlife
Commission, Susie Armes said the new program was about building confidence and
getting children connected with nature from an early age.
“The
great outdoors is a beloved part of life in the Territory and the Wild Time program is a great way to
teach children and their families how to enjoy our national parks safely and
responsibly.
“Children
having a Wild Time will find
themselves playing the ultimate game of hide and seek while they spy, spot,
search and stalk through the undergrowth while learning about the world around
them.
“With
a new activity each week, the Wild Time
program is sure to pique the interest of even the most discerning of little
explorers,” said Ms Armes.
The
program is open to kids aged between 2-10 years old and all participants must
be accompanied by an adult 18 years or over.
Sessions
are held every Tuesday over the school holidays from 10am to 11:30am at the
Alice Springs Telegraph Station.
