Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

Fleetwood Mac fans will be able to sing along to all their favourite songs when the Araluen Arts Centre presents Go Your Own Way: The Story of Christine McVie on Saturday 1 April, 2017.

“The Araluen Arts Centre is thrilled to be presenting the story of Fleetwod Mac’s greatest songbird live on stage,” Araluen Cultural Precinct Director, Dr Mark Crees said.

Go Your Own Way is based on the life of one of rock’s most fiercely private and intriguing figures, Christine McVie.

“Christine McVie started out as a school teacher, who picked up a bass guitar and sang the blues.  Then she joined Fleetwood Mac and made rock history.”

Go Your Own Way
was originally commissioned by Kate Ceberano for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival and is performed by award-winning artist Catherine Alcorn.

Alcorn, a Sydney Theatre Award nominee said “McVie’s music is the heart and soul of this beautifully crafted piece. It will be a nostalgic evening for many.”

In a career that so far spans four decades, the enigmatic McVie is brought to life in this play-with-music by Alcorn who brings her own magic to some of the most memorable songs of the 20th century including Little Lies, Everywhere, Don’t Stop and Songbird.

Go Your Own Way
will be live on stage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Saturday 1 April, 8pm.

Ticket prices are $55.00 for adults, $52.00 for concession and $50.00 for Araluen Arts Centre Members.  Groups of ten people or more can also purchase tickets for $50.00.
