Children
and families are invited on an exciting and educational journey when Patch
Theatre Company presents Emily Loves to
Bounce at the Araluen Arts Centre from 29 – 30 March, 2017.
Inspired
by three of the most loved books by Stephen Michael King (Henry and Amy, Emily Loves to
Bounce and Patricia), Emily Loves to Bounce will transport
audiences to a whimsical world where amazing ideas are expressed in
extraordinary ways.
Director
of the Araluen Cultural Precinct, Dr Mark Crees said “The Araluen Cultural
Precinct is delighted to present Emily
Loves to Bounce as our first family show for 2017.
“It’s
a fun show about carefree Henry, practical Amy and a ball named Emily, and
teaches children that working together in spite of your differences brings out
the best in everyone.”
Patch
Theatre Company’s Artistic Director Naomi Edwards added “Emily Loves to Bounce is full of humour and so utterly relatable -
the wonderful music, the colourful set where the balls and boxes take on a life
of their own - and the magical lighting design by Geoff Cobham.”
Emily Loves to Bounce is suited for children
between the ages of four and eight years old and is built around a series of
games, songs and imaginings, rather than a traditional story structure.
“It
celebrates the exuberance and joy of childhood play,” explained Edwards.
Guests
don’t need to have read the books to share in the joy of the production, with
the performance effectively capturing the imagination of all audience members.
Emily Loves to Bounce will be live on stage
at the Araluen Arts Centre on Wednesday 29 March, 6pm and Thursday 30 March,
10am and 1pm.
Ticket
prices are $22.00 for both adults and children.
Tickets
are available online at www.araluenartscentre.nt.gov.au or from the Araluen Box
Office on (08) 8951 1122.
