The Northern Territory Government is providing free workshops to help develop the skills and knowledge of committee members and administrators within the sport and active recreation community.
Various workshops run by professional
providers are being held in Darwin and Alice Springs from March 8-April 4.
Sport and Recreation Executive Director Phillip Leslie
said anyone involved in a sporting or active recreation organisation in the Northern Territory is
encouraged to participate.
“The workshops will inspire new ideas
and help participants to take on challenges in their roles and assist them to
build capacity, capability and sustainability in their organisations,” said Mr
Leslie.
“Having access to free training run by professionals who are leading educators
in their field is an amazing opportunity and we hope the sport and recreation community
take the opportunity to attend the workshops.
“Whether you are
a new volunteer or have been part of a committee for years, we are confident there will be a workshop
on offer that will give you fresh ideas and information to assist you in your
role.”
Specific topics have been chosen to reflect the training
needs identified through feedback provided by clubs participating in STARCLUBNT. The STARCLUB program provides clubs and active recreation organisations
with tools and resources to help foster continuous improvement and identify
opportunities for ongoing development. Visit https://www.starclub.nt.gov.au/
