At approximately 22:57pm on Sunday 5 March 2017 three youths escaped from Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre.

Police were notified immediately after the detainees were identified as missing and a search for the detainees commenced.

One detainee has been apprehended by Police. Police are searching for two remaining detainees: 17-year-old Ronnie Coulthard and 16-year-old Jacob Long.

Ronnie is an Aboriginal male, 169 cm tall and of medium build with short dark hair.

Jacob is an Aboriginal male, 174 cm tall and of medium build with short dark hair.

The young people are classified as low-risk and are not considered a risk to public safety.  

Members of the public are asked not to approach the escapees, but to report all sightings to police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
