There are currently in excess of 170 restrictions on Northern Territory Government controlled roads across all regions.
Motorists should be aware some roads are in poor condition and care must be taken at all times.
The Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics is working hard to provide regular updates through the Road Report NT website www.roadreport.nt.gov.au
Motorists are reminded to drive to conditions and never attempt to cross flooded causeways.
Some of the significant roads currently impacted across the CENTRAL REGION include:
Finke Road – weight restrictions;
Kintore Road – closed between Kintore Community and WA border. Weight restrictions between Tanami Highway and Kintore Community;
Plenty Highway – weight restrictions from Harts Range to QLD border;
Sandover Highway – closed from Ampilatwatja to the QLD border;
Tanami Road – weight restrictions between Yuendumu turn off to the WA border;
Abminga Access Road – closed;
Ghan Heritage Road – closed;
Mount Denison Road – closed;
Motorists are reminded to Check. Plan. Go before setting out on any road trip across the Territory.
