Following extensive heavy rain throughout the Territory, access to schools in the Top End region has been affected.

Due to impassable roads the following schools remain temporarily closed until further notice.

• Nganambala School

Woolaning School reopened today with students, teachers and the community now able to safely access the school.

Nganambala School will reopen when it can be accessed safely by the students, teachers and the community.

The Department of Education would like to remind students and families and staff to take care when travelling to and from school. If the route that you generally take to and from school is not safe to access, you are encouraged to find an alternative way or contact your school to advise that you are not able to attend.

The Department of Education will continue to closely monitor the weather and road conditions in these regions and provide regular updates on the status of the affected schools.
