Tickets to attend the 2017 Northern Territory Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards are now available.

Now in their 14th year, these awards are the annual opportunity to recognise the outstanding service our nurses and midwives provide to people across the whole of the Northern Territory.

Awards are for nurses and midwives who go beyond the call of duty to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of Territorians.

It’s important to recognise the important work they do and their contribution to improving the health and wellbeing of all of us.

Acting Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer Heather Keighley said that “Territory nurses and midwives are dedicated and passionate people who show strong commitment to delivering quality health care and do this in one of the most challenging, unique and complex environments”.

“To date we have received some very strong and inspirational nominations and we are excited to share these stories and formally recognise these outstanding individuals.”

Held in Alice Springs on Friday 5 May, the International Day of the Midwife, the Celebration Launch marks the official opening of the awards and sees the finalists announced for each of the specialist nursing and midwifery award categories.

Following on from celebrations in Alice Springs, the black-tie Gala Dinner event held in Darwin on Saturday 13 May sees award recipients for each category, including the overall Northern Territory Nurse/Midwife of the Year formally announced.

The Gala Dinner promises to be a night to remember, with guests treated to celebratory drinks, a delicious three-course dinner, awards ceremony and live entertainment.
