The Araluen Arts Centre kicks off its 2017 theatre season with Frankly Winehouse, a tribute to English singer/songwriter Amy Winehouse.
“We are excited to begin our 2017 theatre season with a show that channels the very style and soul of the late Amy Winehouse” said Dr Mark Crees, Director of the Araluen Cultural Precinct.
“Frankly Winehouse is an amazing musical experience that features all the soul, sass and vulnerability of the late Amy Winehouse.”
Melbourne performer Ashleigh Kreveld delves well past the beehive, caked-on eyeliner and cleavage, and into the damaged, but divine, rawness of the singer, who passed away at the age of 27.
“Ashleigh has been praised for her ability to capture the intonation and unique qualities of Winehouse’s deep voice and deliver with an amazing accuracy of her style,”
“Her voice soars and will leave you craving more.”
Dr Crees added “This show paints a stunning portrait of Amy Winehouse and evokes the spirit of an incredible artist the world lost too soon.”
Frankly Winehouse is travelling to Alice Springs after a sold-out Perth season in 2016 and features all the gags, eye-rolls and repartee that encapsulated this legendary artist.
Frankly Winehouse will be on stage at the Araluen Arts Centre on Saturday 4 February at 8.00pm.
Ticket prices are adults for $55.00, concession for $52.00 and Araluen Arts Centre Members $50.00. Groups of ten people or more can also purchase tickets for $50.00.
Tickets are available online at www.araluenartscentre.nt.gov.au or from the Araluen Box Office on (08) 8951 1122.
