IMPROVING STUART HIGHWAY ROAD SAFETY IN ALICE SPRINGS

Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics

Road safety will be improved for motorists using the Stuart Highway north of Alice Springs, from the Motor Vehicle Registry to Herbert Heritage Drive.

The $10 million upgrade project will improve this 1.9km section of highway that is heavily used by road trains, business customers and local residents.

The Northern Territory Government is currently consulting local businesses and the community on the upgrade and the feedback gathered will inform the detailed design to occur in early 2017.

The community is invited to visit the information display at Yeperenye Shopping Centre on Saturday 10 December, 9am to 1pm.

This project is being delivered through the National Network Fatigue Management and Safety Initiatives Programme, which forms part of the $77 million Northern Territory Roads Package.
