International trade, engagement and investment mission to Japan, Korea and China

Representatives from across the Northern Territory Government, industry and business are participating in the international trade, engagement and investment mission to Japan, Korea and China, led by the Chief Minister.

The delegation of 96 people, which includes 75 business and industry delegates, fourteen public servants and three local media personnel, is engaging in a range of key meetings and with the Territory’s key trade and investment partners. 

The trip began on Thursday 27 October and will conclude on 6 November:

Japan - meetings with senior INPEX officials and government representatives covering agribusiness, minerals, tourism, trade, investment and international education.

Korea - visit to the construction site of Shell’s Prelude LNG and INPEX-led Ichthys facilities which will be located in the Browse Basin. Meetings with government departments and officials.

China – meetings with government officials and joint government and business events in Beijing. Ninety-six delegates from the Territory, including seventy-five Territory business delegates, will participate in the NT-Rizhao Joint Economic Cooperation Forum, alongside 120 participants from China, including 40 government officials. The Forum will include a range of keynote presentations followed by industry specific breakout sessions jointly hosted by senior Territory public servants. The breakout sessions will explore opportunities to expand activities to the mutual benefit of Rizhao and the Northern Territory. Following the Forum, some member of the agriculture delegation will also participate in other key engagements in the region.
