Fans of Spinal Tap and Flight of the Conchords - it’s time to say ‘Hallo” to your new favourite band Die Roten Punkte as they bring their show Super Musician to Alice Springs.
“Dysfunctional siblings Otto and Astrid are Die Roten Punkte (The Red Dots) who have been crowned Berlin’s Prince and Princess of art rock and Europop,” Araluen Cultural Precinct director Dr Mark Crees said.
“The band won the 2008 Melbourne Green Room Award for Cabaret and the 2010 Montreal and Victoria Fringe Award for Best Comedy and will now bring their second full-length show Super Musician to the Araluen Arts Centre.
“A Die Roten Punkte gig is a wild, rock ’n’ roll ride, full of hilarious, truly catchy and award winning pop songs, constantly interrupted by the squabbling of Astrid and Otto.
“They have sold out venues in New York, Edinburgh, Montreal, Dublin and Sydney and have been described as ‘a lipstick-smeared, tantrum-loving sonic collision between the B52s, Kraftwerk and early Ramones’.
“Die Roten Punkte are truly one of a kind and not to be missed in Alice Springs.”
Ticket prices are adults $39, concession $35 and Friends of the Araluen Arts Centre $32. All tickets are available from the Araluen Box Office on 8951 1122.
Super Musician is on stage at the Araluen Arts Centre from 8pm on Thursday 13 October.
