Carnival of the Animals

Department of Tourism, Sport and Culture

The spellbinding and mesmerising Circa Contemporary Circus bring the Carnival of the Animals to the Araluen Arts Centre this week with whimsical tales of creatures of land and sea.

“Circa is an internationally acclaimed circus company who are famed for their inventiveness, precision and creativity and we are delighted to be hosting them this week,” Araluen Cultural Precinct director Dr Mark Crees said.

“Their performances have been rapturously received by audiences, presenters and critics in 33 countries around the world.

“Their three performances this week are a great opportunity for audiences to experience the joy of the animal kingdom, brought to the Araluen Arts Centre stage in this physical theatre extravaganza.

Carnival of the Animals whisks you away on a thrilling circus escapade inspired by Camille Saint-Saens’ delightful salute to feathers, fur and fins, in a blend of circus, multimedia and music.

“Circa’s acrobats bring this classical music suite to life for a whole new generation of circus, music and animal lovers.

“The stage will be transformed into a series of wondrous animal habitats, while performers stun audiences with acrobatic feats and aerial skills.”

Ticket prices for adults and children are $20, with all tickets available from the Araluen Box Office on 8951 1122.

On stage at the Araluen Arts Centre from 6pm on Thursday 29 September with two shows Friday 30 September, one at 10am and the other at 1pm.
