Winners of the 2016 NT Training Awards

Twelve employers, trainers and individuals have been recognised for their hard work, dedication and excellence in the Northern Territory’s vocational education and training (VET) sector.

Training NT Executive Director, Wendi Masters said the winners of the NT Training Awards were announced this evening at a gala event hosted by the Northern Territory Government.

“The VET sector plays an integral role in the ongoing economic and social growth of the Territory by skilling and training the current and future workforce,” Wendi said.

“VET provides Territorians with job ready skills and national qualifications for a diverse range of careers.

“Tonight winners, runners-up and all finalists represent the future of the industry here in the Territory.

“There were thirty seven finalists competing in a total of 12 categories for individuals and organisations

“This year the ‘Medium Employer of the Year’ award recognises a business or organisation with between 20 and 200 employees that has achieved excellence in the provision of training to its employees.

“It was my pleasure to see the inaugural award presented to Probuild NT, a civil and commercial construction company with offices in Darwin and Alice Springs.

The winners from a number of categories will have the opportunity to represent the Northern Territory at the Australian Training Awards, which will be hosted by the Northern Territory in Darwin during November this year.
