Tactile Arts on the Wharf

Darwin Waterfront Corporation

Darwin Waterfront and Tactile Arts are delighted to announce a new craft market!

‘Tactile Arts on the Wharf’, is a harbour-side, twilight market which will be held every Saturday in September, from 5pm to 8pm.

Each Saturday the iconic Stokes Hill Wharf will host 15 stalls, showcasing the work of some of Darwin’s finest local artists and crafts people. Each night will bring a new mix of stallholders, featuring more than 40 artists over the four nights with an incredible array of quality handcrafted items.

Check out the event page on the Darwin Waterfront's Facebook for a list of exhibitors each night.

“A sunset meal out on Stokes Hill Wharf is a great Darwin experience, for locals and visitors alike, so it is a fitting location to celebrate our talented crafts people,” Sarah Body, General Manager, Tactile Arts said.

“Buying a product directly from the artist who made it is a very special experience and often the characteristic of each handcrafted item is as unique as the individual who makes them.”

“There’s a big range of products available including glass jewellery and beads, paintings, clothing, ceramics, mosaics, textiles, metal and wood crafts and much more.”

You can make a night of it and stay for dinner or even plan a sunset cruise.  Stokes Hill Wharf offers a relaxed dining atmosphere with a choice of two seaside alfresco eateries or casual restaurant dining, specialising in fresh local seafood and steak.

Parking is limited, however it is easy to park on Stokes Hill Road and catch the free continuous shuttle bus to and from Indo Pacific Marine between 4pm and 10pm daily.
