Learn to Fly at Darwin Waterfront

Darwin Waterfront Corporation

From 6–20 August 2016, Fly Factory will run two hour trapeze workshops at Darwin Waterfront daily (excluding Mondays) for the young and young at heart.

Fly Factory’s outdoor flying trapeze will be set up at Darwin Waterfront (in front of the Recreation Lagoon) from 5–20 August 2016.

Two hour workshops will run daily (excluding Mondays) for people aged 7+ years. Cost to participate is $65 per person.

“With 10 people in a workshop you will be taught how to perform a knee-hang trick that will be caught by one of our instructors,” Fly Factory Manager, Holly Shoar said.

“Funding has been raised through Fly For Health for kids from remote communities to learn how to fly while we’re in Darwin.”

“Fly For Health is a not for profit organisation (established after Fly Factory took their flying trapeze to Fitzroy Crossing in 2014)."

“We provide flying trapeze, circus and song writing programs for primary and secondary students, young adults and Aboriginal community groups from remote and disadvantaged communities.”

“Through funds raised, over 200 kids will have access to the flying trapeze whilst we’re in Darwin.”

“As far as we know this is the first time flying trapeze classes have been offered in Darwin but not NT.”

“Fly Factory have just spent 3 weeks in Tennant Creek working with kids to perform a show at the recent Desert Harmony Festival.”
