Darwin’s rich Indonesian culture will come alive this Saturday at Pesona Indonesia.
The Darwin Waterfront will be transformed into an Indonesian extravaganza from 4pm to 8.30pm on Saturday 30 July.
“Pesona” translates to “enchanting”, which is fitting for this event which celebrates and showcases Indonesian’s vibrant culture, mesmerising entertainment and delicious food.
Attendees can expect to indulge in delicious Indonesian cuisine such as authentic rice and noodle dishes, laksa, nasi goreng, soups, curries, rendang, satays, gado gado, spring rolls and Indonesian desserts.
The free Indonesian festival will host an exciting line up of entertainment will include live bands, dance performances, a fashion parade and much more.
“It is especially significant to have Rindik Bambu Bali from Bali, Indonesia at the event who will perform Rindik, which is a traditional musical instrument made out of bamboo,” Wayan Chambers, Secretary of Darwin Bali Community.
“Darwin is Indonesian’s gateway to Australia, and with a similar laid-back lifestyle and climate, it’s no wonder that we have a natural connection.”

This is the third year the event has been held as a standalone independent event at the Darwin Waterfront.
Pesona Indonesia is an annual event, which is scheduled to fall close to the Indonesian Independence Day on 17 August.
