Works to upgrade the Dundee Beach boat ramp are now underway.
Darwin based company, Mark Cundall Earthmoving Pty Ltd, secured the $4.79 million construction contract for the Dundee Beach boat ramp which will see a new 80-metre concrete self-launch boat ramp built.
The old rock groyne has been removed which has changed the site conditions for boat launching. A new extended rock groyne will be constructed to provide greater shelter from onshore winds and swell.
While launch access will be maintained during construction works, users are advised to use the boat ramp with caution and should make contact with The Lodge of Dundee prior to taking to the water.
The Dundee Downs boat ramp is recommended as an alternative access point.
The new Dundee Beach boat ramp will be ready for boaties by early 2017.
