Camping at Litchfield National Park this school holidays!

Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory

Camping at the popular Litchfield National Park will be available at three different areas during the upcoming school holidays.

A Parks and Wildlife Commission NT spokesperson said there would be 47 great camping spots available within the park during the four week break.

“There will be five spots at the Florence 4WD campground, 34 spots at Wangi campground and eight spots at Walker Creek campground,” the spokesperson said.

It had been hoped that Sandy Creek would be open for camping also, but on-going works meant it would remain closed.

Visitors to Tolmer Falls can now expect a brand-new experience from tomorrow after the works to the loop walk and lookout were completed today.

“Visitors will now be able to enjoy a new elevated shelter and raised walkway, a picnic area with shelter, a new toilet facility and a disability path,” the spokesperson said.

“Visitors can also try out the Cascades Loop Walk which offers several lookouts with sweeping views of the lowlands below.

“Both the upper and lower pools at Cascades are open and are a great spot to take a dip, cool down and relax.”
