In recognition of the need for more sound professionals in the Northern Territory, Screen Territory has partnered with the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) to provide sound recording workshops.
Screen Territory is currently
calling for applications for two Introductory
Location Sound Recording Workshops being held in Alice Springs and Darwin
this month.
Director
Screen Territory Penelope McDonald said this was a great opportunity for film
enthusiasts and professionals to take advantage of and develop their skills.
“The
workshop will be held over three days and those involved will learn the latest
sound recording techniques used to capture speech
and sound effects using
portable recording equipment,” she said.
The workshops will focus on:
• Sound propagation and capture
• Microphones and mixers
• Analogue and digital signal paths
• Recording Environments
• Recorder operation
“Every good film needs good sound
and this is a great way to help develop and hone knowledge in this industry,”
Ms McDonald said.
“By the end of the course
you’ll be able to set up and operate a range of portable sound recording equipment commonly used in film and television production.”
The
workshop is taking place in Alice Springs on 20 to 23 June and in Darwin on 23
to 25 June.
Applications close
on Wednesday 15 June so get in quick!
