The community are invited to help celebrate the inaugural Australia and New Zealand Botanic Garden Open Day at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Garden this Sunday.
The celebration will be held in conjunction with more than 70 other Botanic gardens across Australia and New Zealand and is expected to be a fantastic day.
George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens Director Bryan Harty said the open day would start at 11am and would include free guided walking tours, Segway tours and an Eco Gallery digital art display.
“We will also be officially opening the Africa – Madagascar Gardens on the day and to mark this occasion Malagasy song and dance performances will be held in the afternoon,” he said.
“There will be free guided walking tours available throughout the day for the public which is very exciting as the public will be able to see and have explained so much of our gardens that normally isn’t accessible.
“Our gardens are just so beautiful and so popular with both locals and tourists, whether it be relaxing in our wonderful scenery, having a coffee at Eva’s Café or exploring the many exciting areas in the Park.”
