Alice Springs students studying Horticulture at Charles Darwin University have been given a ‘green’ opportunity.
The Northern Territory Government has opened a competition for Alice Springs based students to showcase their landscaping skills as part of the plan for the new roundabout at the upgraded Larapinta / Lovegrove Drive intersection.
The students have been asked to design the centre of the roundabout, complimenting the colours and culture of the central Australian town.
The entrants will need to design a low maintenance garden that incorporates natural materials and plants native to the region.
The competition is open to Alice Springs based Diploma of Horticulture students until Friday 3 June 2016.
Following judging, the winning landscape design is expected to be announced in early June 2016.
