Celebrate the beginning of the dry season with the Darwin Symphony Orcherstra’s Opera Gala at the Darwin Waterfront, this Saturday (21 May 2016).
Enjoy an evening of divine and glorious music making showcasing some of Australian’s leading opera superstars – Cheryl Barker, Teddy Tahu Rhodes, Victoria Lambourn and Henry Choo.
“This is an opportunity for Darwin locals and visitors to experience Australia’s best musicians for only a gold coin donation,” Karen Relph, General Manager, Darwin Symphony Orchestra said.
“What better way to experience this magnifician concert, than to do it under a canopy of a twinkling Darwin sky at the Waterfront’s beautiful and iconic location.”
“The concert will conclude with a spectacular fireworks finale at approximately 8.45pm.”
“The DSO comprises of 65 volunteer musicians and a small professional core, who live and work within the Darwin community, the DSO is an orchestra of and for the community.”
“The DSO is one of Australia’s youngest orchestra’s and most adventurous, which is something we’re very proud of.”
“We work hard to innovate and evolve, and bring classical music to the people of Darwin.”
Patrons are encouraged to arrive at 6.30pm to secure a spot on the lawns with the concert to commence at 7pm. Pack a picnic or enjoy a variety of takeaway specials from retailers on the night. There is also a variety of dining options on offer within restaurants. Book ahead to avoid disapooinment.
This is a glass and alcohol free event.
