BAMFest to draw a crowd at Desert Harmony Festival

Desert Harmony Festival will return to Tennant Creek at the end of the month, from 28-30 July 2023, and the Sunday music special, BAMFest, is set to showcase musicians from across the region.

Desert Harmony Festival is a celebration of Indigenous art, music and culture, and creates a platform where creatives can come together and present their talents. BAMFest will host a number of artists and bands from the Barkly region and beyond, including Ripple Effect Band, PJ Reggae, Docker River Band, New Boys Band and Desert Eagles.

A swag of musos, including Emma Donovan and Frank Yamma & David Bridie are also on the line-up for the Saturday program.

The festival is run by Barkly Regional Arts with BAMFest supported by Northern Territory Government through Northern Territory Major Events Company.

Desert Harmony Festival kicks off early with a free community screening of recently released feature film Sweet As on Friday, July 22 2023. The film stars the Barkly’s own Pedrea Jackson.

The festival also includes a program of workshops, where attendees can meet artists and learn about local bush tucker, visual arts techniques and song writing. These hands-on experiences aim to foster a deeper appreciation for all art forms while promoting cultural understanding.

The three-day festival, including BAMFest, is free to attend, but bookings are recommended for workshops. To find out more head to [http://www.barklyarts.com.au].
