Spoil mum this Sunday (8 May) at the Mother’s Day Saltwater Craft Fair, from 9am to 2pm.
Over sixty of the Territory’s best artisans and craftspeople will be selling their wares on the day with a variety of products on offer including; glass, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, homewares, clothing, paintings, prints, garden sculpture, macramé, candles and more. All products are authentic and handmade locally.
“The most special gift you can give your mum this Mother’s Day is your time,” Event Organiser Kate Shearman from Tactile Arts said.
“Spend the day with mum and let her pick her own unique gift, and meet the artist who made it.”
“You can make the most of the day at the Darwin Waterfront with plenty of places to enjoy breakfast or lunch, or simply bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the live music by the Recreation Lagoon until 4pm.”
This year Tactile Arts is installing a lavish and exotic photo booth – with just a touch of Bollywood about it.
“It’s a great memento of the day. Mums and their families can have their photos taken and they will be uploaded to the Tactile Arts Mothers’ Day photo album on Facebook for families and friends to share!” says Kate
Tactile Arts supports the development of local art throughout the Top End, and the craft fair is the perfect time for the Darwin community to get behind their local artists.
