Work is progressing on the $13 million project to construct the third lane from the Tiger Brennan Drive overpass, extending along Roystonea Avenue to Temple Terrace in Palmerston.

The important project forms part of the $57 million Palmerston Road Upgrades.

Local NT Company, BMD Urban Pty Ltd, is working on the project which when complete will increase capacity on Roystonea Avenue for current and expected future development in the area.

This week, on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 April 2016 between 7pm and 5am, vegetation clearing will take place on Roystonea Avenue.

Vegetation clearing is required to allow for works associated with construction of the third lane to take place. Landscaping will occur after roadworks are complete.

To minimise disruption to day time traffic, most of the clearing works will occur at night, outside of peak hours of travel. Motorists can expect temporary lane closures and speed restrictions in the vicinity of works.
