Discover parks these school holidays

Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory

This school holidays bring your kids to the Alice Springs Telegraph Station to connect with nature on our Pop Up Discovery Trail!

The family event falls during National Nature Play Week which kicks off on the 6th of April promoting the motto “kids do better outdoors!”

NT Parks and Wildlife Community Engagement Officer Susie Armes encourages families to spend their school holidays playing outdoors and enjoying nature by heading to one our fantastic parks and reserves for some outdoor fun.

“The school holidays are a fantastic time to get the children out of the house and into our parks,” she said.

“The Pop Up Discovery Trail presents the perfect opportunity for families to enjoy what our parks have to offer while connecting with nature and learning more about the environment.”

The Pop Up Discovery Trail kicks off at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station on Sunday 3rd of April and will stay up until Sunday 17th of April.

“The trail will be up for two weeks so there's plenty of time to get down with the family and bring your friends back so they can experience the fun as well,” Mrs Armes said.

“Collect your free map from the Trail Station and follow the trail markers to feel, smell and track your way from start to finish.”

Come along to the launch of the trail on Sunday April 3rd from 3 pm to walk the discovery trail with a Ranger!

Make sure you come along wearing sturdy shoes, a hat and bring along your own water bottle.
