The Araluen Arts Centre is excited to welcome the Aboriginal Comedy Allstars later this month.
Araluen Arts Centre Director Mark Crees said the Aboriginal Comedy Allstars was a cheeky, playful, irreverent, and hilarious show.
“We are excited to have the Aboriginal Comedy
Allstars perform here at the Centre and I expect we’ll get a huge turnout for
the show.
“The Araluen Arts Centre is pleased to
welcome veteran Aboriginal Comedy Allstars performers Kevin Kropinyeri,
Shiralee Ford and Matt Hood, as well as introducing Dane Simpson.”
Dane Simpson’s cheeky online sketches such as
“Chips and Devon” are making this bright new talent a bit of a Facebook
favourite, gaining more than 50,000 likes. He has been running a regular comedy
club in his hometown of Wagga Wagga since 2015.
Matt Ford is an exciting young talent,
rapidly establishing himself as part of the next generation of Australian
stand-up, working with the likes of Tom Gleeson and Tom Ballard.
Shiralee Hood survived the Canberra bush
fires, lived next to the Tent Embassy's sacred fire outside Parliament House in
Canberra and had her front teeth knocked out swinging on a Hill's Hoist.
Kevin Kropinyeri is Australia’s premier
Aboriginal comedy star who will have you holding your sides laughing, as he
shares tales of growing up, marriage and the particular, absurd challenges of
life as an Aboriginal Australian.
The Aboriginal Comedy All Stars are on stage
at the Araluen Arts Centre, Tuesday 15 March at 8.00pm, proudly supported
locally by 783 ABC Alice Springs, the 2016 Araluen Arts Centre Media Partner.
Ticket prices are adults for $39, concession
for $35 and Friends of the Araluen Arts Centre for $32. They are available from
the Araluen Box Office on (08) 8951 1122.
