Community Forum for Proposed Tavern

A Community Forum will be held to discuss the application for liquor and gaming machine licenses for the proposed Flynn Tavern in Bellamack.

The application is for a ‘Tavern’ Licence with facilities for takeaway liquor, family bistro, alfresco dining area, sports bar, a gaming room, children’s play area and live entertainment on selected nights.

The Director-General of Licensing, Cindy Bravos, said a public consultation period began in August last year and a number of objections were received.

“Given the widespread interest in this matter, I wish to be fully informed as to the issues involved before I make a decision whether to grant the liquor licence or not,” Ms Bravos said.

“Then, depending if a liquor licence is granted, whether to grant the licence for gaming machines.”

“To help me make an informed decision, taking into account the widest range of community and stakeholder views, I will hold a community forum on Thursday 3 March 2016.”

“The forum will be conducted by an experienced independent facilitator and will allow the applicant to present full details of the proposed operation of the Tavern and for the community to provide their views. “

The Community Forum will be held on Thursday 3rd March, 2016 at the Palmerston Raiders Rugby Club, Goodline Park, Cnr Owston and Forrest Parade, Rosebery, commencing at 5.30pm.
