The Darwin Waterfront Corporation welcomes the
arrival of the Pacific Princess,
which will berth at Stokes Hill Wharf tomorrow from 7am to 5.30pm.
This ship will be carrying approximately 980
passengers and crew on board. Another cruise ship, Amsterdam, will be also berthed at Fort Hill Wharf on the same day,
with approximately 1690 passengers and crew on board.
The Pacific
Princess is owned and operated by Princess
Cruises. Built in France in 1999, the vessel boasts a variety of entertainment
venues, restaurants and freshwater pools. Originally called MS R Three the ship was renamed in
Sydney in 2002.
Tomorrow
is the perfect opportunity to get a closer look at these magnificent ships from
Stokes Hill Wharf while enjoying a variety of dining options from fresh
seafood, Asian cuisine and excellent fish and chips.
Restaurants will offer specials on the day including Portside Char Grill’s seafood platter for two for $39.50 or a steak sandwich with the lot, a side of chips and a drink for $15.00.
Local artists Brother Pheonix and Tabu Ska will perform live for lunch (11.30am to 2pm) and dinner (5.30pm to 8.30pm) trade.
The public can access Stokes Hill Wharf via a free
shuttle bus which will operate from outside Indo Pacific Marine to the wharf continuously
from 9am to 9pm.
Free on road parking applies within the Darwin
Waterfront Precinct on weekends, and people are encouraged to use carparks on
Stokes Hill Road and at the rear of the Darwin Convention Centre.
