BUSHFIRES NT MESSAGE - ADVICE

LOCATION: Yuendumu ALT, YUENDUMU (COMPLEX)

ALERT LEVEL: Advice

FIRE TYPE: Bushfire.

INFORMATION CURRENT AS AT: 14/01/2022 12:11 hours

STATUS: UNDER CONTROL - The fire is at a stage where fire fighting resources are only required for patrol purposes and major re-ignition is unlikely.

RISKS FACED BY PEOPLE IN THE AREA: Smoke from this fire may affect visibility, Active fire may occur close to the roadside , Firefighting crews may be working close to the roadside.

WHAT TO DO: Stay informed until threat is reduced.

ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC: The fire is south of Yuendumu community and south of the Tanami road. Yuendumu community is safe and all assets are safe and secure.

The fire is almost contained. Bushfires NT are working with Newhaven Sanctuary staff to control the fire. It is expected that the fire will be contained by the end of the day.

IT IS EXPECTED THIS SITUATION MAY CONTINUE UNTIL: 15/01/2022 18:00 hours
