Public feedback sought on Daniel’s Law

Department of Attorney-General and Justice

Public forums will be held across the Territory, over the following two weeks, to receive feedback on ‘Daniel’s Law’.

The Department of the Attorney-General and Justice will host forums that will provide information about ‘Daniel’s Law’ and receive public feedback.

‘Daniel’s Law’ would create a public website detailing child sex offenders and child homicide offenders living in the Territory. The website would provide the details of these offenders, including their names and dates of birth, their offences and the general location in which the offenders reside.

Members of the public are invited to attend and express their views at a series of public forums being held in five locations.

The first of the public forums will be held in Darwin on Friday 29 January 2016, followed by forums in Katherine, Nhulunbuy, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs.

Members of the public unable to attend any of the forums are encouraged to provide comment in writing to danielslawfeedback@nt.gov.au by Wednesday 10 February 2016.
