Santa at the Wave Lagoon: Sunday 13 and 20 December
Santa’s back! The jolly fellow in red is visiting the Wave Lagoon again this year on Sunday 13 and 20 December between 11am and 2pm.
A DJ will play Christmas tunes, and there’ll be dancing competitions, Christmas art and craft, games and prizes, plus a few treats from Santa!
The whole family can cool off in the water with loads of beach balls, boogie boards and tubes whilst listening to the tunes of the festive season being played.
There will be plenty of prizes up for grabs for the kids who participate in a variety of games and activities in the toddler pools and Wave Lagoon.
Normal Wave Lagoon entry fees apply. $18 gets a family of two adults and three children all day entry.
Local restaurants, cafes and specialty outlets will be trading on the day, perfect if you’d like to grab a cool refreshment, bite to eat or a Christmas gift for someone special.
See Santa at Stokes Hill Wharf: Sunday 13 December and Saturday 19 December
Santa will also make a special appearance for those having dinner at Stokes Hill Wharf on Sunday 13 December and Saturday 19 December, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
Spend an evening with the family enjoying the laidback atmosphere with a choice of two seaside alfresco eateries or casual restaurant dining, specialising in fresh local seafood and steak, in one of Darwin’s largest outdoor eateries with panoramic harbour views.
Stokes Hill Wharf’s harbour cruises are also a great option for a Christmas party, romantic evening or a unique gift idea.
Christmas display: every night in December
Are you looking for somewhere to get into the Christmas spirit after dark?
Every night in December, the Darwin Waterfront Precinct has been transformed into a tropical Christmas wonderland with a mesmerising new light show and ‘snow’ every half hour between 7pm and 10pm.
Join the many families who’ve shared in the magic of Christmas at the Waterfront, where magnificent, brightly lit raintrees throw colourful splashes onto the lawns and twinkling lanterns light the entrance to the precinct’s parklands.
A rare sight in Darwin, it’s also ‘snowing’ every half hour near the glass lifts, which is proving a thrilling spectacle for the many kids (and bigger kids) who’ve come down for a walk through the lawns and an ice-cream or early dinner.
