Find the perfect Christmas gifts at this
Sunday’s Christmas Saltwater Craft Fair.
With over 90 Territory artists selling their wares on the day, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
This year there has been a record uptake of craft fair sites with spaces booked-out weeks ahead of the event.
“The increase in enthusiasm from Territory artists wanting to take part is a testament to the success of previous craft fairs held at the Waterfront over the last three years,” Event Organiser, Sarah Body from Tactile Arts said.
“The Saltwater Craft Fair is quickly gaining a reputation as a great place to purchase unique, high quality and sophisticated products. Many of last year’s craft fair attendees commented on the excellent quality and were impressed by the huge range of products on sale; one in particular stated that the fair was world class.”
All work on sale is handmade and crafted locally right here in the Territory. There is everything from ceramic and glass bead jewellery, mosaics, paintings, sculptures, soaps, textiles and much more.
“There’s something special about being able to purchase a product directly from the person who made it.”
“When people buy something at the craft fair, they are buying an authentic and quality product directly from the person who made it, which is a completely different experience to purchasing a gift which is mass produced on the other side of the world.”
The event is a partnership between the Darwin Waterfront and Tactile Arts.
Tactile Arts supports the development of local art throughout the Top End, and the craft fair is the perfect time for the Darwin community to get behind their local artists.
