The George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens has teamed up with Life Be in it NT to present Healthy Holiday Fun at the Botanic Gardens on Wednesday, 30 September until Friday, 2 October.
Botanic Gardens Visitor Services Officer, Helen Panatos said the program of free activities will be running from 10am to 2pm each day and includes animal encounters, Healthy Harold, Hector the Road Safety Cat appearances and Hyper the Clown.
"Kids will have the chance to take part in boat races in the creek, rockclimbing, waterslides, a range of sporting activities, animal encounters, a bike and scooter wash, athletics and many more activities," Mrs Panatos said.
"The three days are packed full of fun to keep the kids busy, while parents can relax and picnic in the Gardens or visit Eva's Café.
“Bring a picnic or enjoy food from the Camp Quality sausage sizzle, Trampoline Ice Cream and Katja’s Delicious Kettlecorn.”
Please note the main carpark will be closed - there are drop off zones for disabled and vacation care groups. Geranium Street carpark, Gardens Road and Mindil Beach overflow carpark are available.

Territory Wildlife Park (TWP) Director, Shael Martin said visitors to TWP should bring their bathers to cool off with wet and wild water play fun from 11am - 3pm each day of this week long school holiday.
“TWP also have a ‘Find Ollie the Owl’ game where kids can find hidden owls all around the Park”, said Ms Martin.
There are limited spaces left for Keeper Kid day on Friday, 2 October. Please visit http://www.territorywildlifepark.com.au/ and make an online booking for the chance to be a Zookeeper for the day.
Alice Springs Desert Park Product Development Coordinator, Dale McIver said families can head to the Desert Park for the Desert Explorer Program on Wednesday, 30 September and Friday, 2 October from 8am to 4pm.
“Desert Explorer Program provides a unique opportunity for kids aged between 8 and 12 to explore behind the scenes of a working zoo and botanical garden,” said Dale McIver.
“It is a chance to meet iconic desert animals, take a look behind the scenes and get your hands dirty with food preparation. Meet the zoo keepers and see how the keepers train our animals.”
