Locals and visitors are invited to learn more about the natural values of the central Australian ranges through an informative talk at Ormiston Gorge.
“The guided walk is a wonderful way to learn more about the unique geology of the West MacDonnell Ranges,” Ormiston Gorge Ranger Hollie Gooden said.
“Dr David Kelsey, professor of Geology and Geophysics at Adelaide University, will host an informative guided walk interpreting the rugged landscape that makes up Ormiston Gorge in the Tjoritja / West MacDonnell National Park.”
Ormiston Gorge, located 135 kilometres west of Alice Springs, attracts thousands of visitors per year, for its amazing landscapes, abundant and easily spotted wildlife, wide range of walking trails, camping, swimming and extensive photographic opportunities.
“Ormiston Gorge boasts some spectacular geology and landforms in the West MacDonnell Ranges and this informative community presentation will be a great way to gain a new understanding of the Gorge and its surroundings,” Ms Gooden said.
