New TWP Mosaic Tunnels Unveiled on Mother’s Day

Parks and Wildlife Commission of the Northern Territory

The unveiling of new mosaic tunnels will be one of several highlights at the Territory Wildlife Park this Mother’s Day.

Territory Wildlife Park director Shael Martin said other highlights include a morning tea buffet, lucky seat prizes, animal encounters and craft activities for children.

“Mother’s Day is always a great day for families, especially mums, to visit the Territory Wildlife Park,” Ms Martin said.

“The morning tea buffet will be set in the Park’s beautiful surrounds and coincide with the public  unveiling of two new mosaic tunnels that children, and maybe adults too, will have much fun walking through and exploring.

“The tiles represent the native animals of the Park’s woodland habitat and were mosaicked by the same artist who did the recently unveiled Oolloo Sandbar poles, Janie Andrews.

“Most of the tiles for these tunnels were produced by Territory Wildlife Park staff, their partners and friends, and Berry Springs Primary School students, as one of the Park’s 2014-15 minor new works projects aimed at upgrading the interpretation and further development of nature play areas around the Park.

“These tunnels are a great addition to the Park and I look forward to seeing many mums and their families here on Mother’s Day, having a great time.”

Tickets to the Territory Wildlife Park’s Mother’s Day buffet on Sunday 10 May are now available by calling the Park on 89887238 and making a booking.

Tickets are $22.50 for adults, $15 for children aged 12-16, $9.50 for children aged 2-11 and is free for children aged under 2.
