Community Benefit Fund Committee Positions

Applications are now being accepted to join the Community Benefit Committee (the Committee).

The Committee provides advice and assistance to the Minister for Business in relation to the distribution of funds collected by the Community Benefit Fund.

Applications close Monday 11 May 2015.

The Committee was set up to provide advice and assistance in relation to the distribution of monies collected by the Community Benefit Fund which funds grants for gambling amelioration, small and major community organisations and vehicle gifts and long term loans.

The Committee meets periodically throughout the year to assess grant applications that are received by the Community Benefit Fund.

Potential candidates should be community-minded and be familiar with community activities and groups in their local area.

Representation is being sought from all regions of the Territory to enable the committee to recommend the best outcomes during the assessment of applications.

The Community Benefit Fund was established to provide funding support for gambling-related research and amelioration programs concerned with problem gambling, as well as Community Benefit Grants which provide assistance for general community development and improvement purposes. The fund receives money from levies imposed on the operation of electronic gaming machines operated by licensed hotels throughout the Northern Territory.

Applications can be sent to the Community Benefit Fund Secretariat at cbf.ntg@nt.gov.au before Monday 11 May 2015.
